E T ERNAL FIRES T ORM OF
AT MOSPHERIC
BLACK METAL

Forged in November 2010 by vocalist and guitarist Tino Büttner, INVOKER quickly carved out a relentless presence in the European extreme metal underground. Hailing from Saxony-Anhalt, the band unleashes razor-sharp, melodic riffs and thunderous growls and grunts, laced with the icy darkness of black metal. Every scream drips with shadow, mysticism, and raw, uncompromising atmosphere.

Their sound? A pitch-black fusion of Atmospheric Black, Post-Black, and Avant-Garde Metal, driven by growls rising from the abyss.

By 2012, their work began to take shape as part of a larger concept called A New Age, culminating in their debut album released in 2013 through Godeater Records. They unleashed it live at the infernal Under The Black Sun Festival beside legends like Melechesh, Koldbrann, VON and throughout their relentless live crusade, they’ve shared the stage with grim forces such as Horna and Harakiri for the Sky.

They launched their first headlining crusade in January 2014, tearing through Switzerland, the Netherlands, Belgium, and Germany—ripping venues apart in a blitz of raw power and dark intensity. In 2015, their second album, Aeon, was released via Non Serviam Records. More mature in production and arrangement, it featured cover artwork by Misanthropic‑Art (known for work with Deserted Fear and Secrets Of The Moon). The scene confirmed their progress, with Metal‑Revolution awarding the album approximately 70%.

Since 2015, Nico Hünniger has brought fresh energy as the lead guitarist. In January 2019, Invoker signed with Einheit Produktionen and announced plans for their third album. Ingo Rusche joined Invoker on bass, bringing a powerful low-end presence that immediately strengthened their sound.

In 2020, Invoker released their third album, Towards The Pantheon Of The Nameless, via Einheit Produktionen. The album showcases intense melodic Black/Death Metal across nine tracks, with reviewers praising its combination of heavy riffing and atmospheric layering. Ingo’s bass work was highlighted as both punchy and driving, especially on tracks like «Journey to Darkness».

Metal‑Temple rated the album highly (8/10), calling it “a transformative evolution… a well‑oiled machine armed with a punishing arsenal”. Metal.de noted the band’s strong balance of raw energy and melody, despite some production limitations.

In 2025, Francisco Alba joined on drums as a session drummer, elevating the band’s sonic potential with greater creativity and a heightened sense of professionalism. His arrival marked a clear step forward in both precision and intensity.

In 2026, Alexander Hey officially joined as a full-time member on keyboards, after previously contributing piano and keyboard work in session roles. His full integration into the band has pushed Invoker further into avantgarde soundscapes, expanding their atmospheric depth and experimental edge.

Hailing from Germany, Invoker has carved out a distinct identity within atmospheric black metal, infused with avantgarde elements. The band is now preparing to enter the studio to conjure their next release—an immersive descent into shadowed soundscapes, where haunting melodies, dissonant textures, and evolving structures intertwine. This new chapter promises a deeper, more experimental darkness that pushes beyond convention.

Looking ahead to 2026, Invoker is set to bring this new material to the stage—delivering live performances driven by relentless riffs and grim, immersive atmospheres. Expect the shadows to come alive.

The new EP is set for release in July 2026 through Northern Darkness Records, marking the next chapter in Invoker’s evolving sound. This will be followed by a full-length album in November 2026, further expanding the band’s dark and avantgarde direction.

🤘 Horns up—darkness returns onstage and on record!
